| Info | Catesby Jones is president of Peace Frogs, Inc., a casual sportswear company founded in 1985 while he was a student at the University of Virginia.
Born on March 3, 1965, Catesby Baytop Jones, the younger of two children by Catesby G. Jones Jr. and Spotswood Hunnicutt Jones, comes from a family devoted to public service in the First District. His father served as Commonwealth's Attorney of Gloucester County for 16 years and his mother taught at the Matthew Whaley School in Williamsburg, Virginia for 18 years. His grandfather, Catesby Graham Jones, was a judge in Gloucester, Virginia for over 25 years. Catesby attended Hampton Road Academy in Newport News and graduated from Woodberry Forest School in 1983. He earned his B.A. in International Relations and minored in Economics and History at the University of Virginia in 1987. Motivation and vision gripped him at an early age when he started a clothing line called Peace Frogs while attending college. Catesby nurtured this idea into a multimillion dollar international business where he currently serves as CEO. Catesby regularly contributes to local charities. He organized the Peace Frogs Bank to Bank Fund for needy children in the Tidewater Area, a two-mile swim for charity across various tributaries in the Middle Peninsula region. Catesby is no armchair fundraiser: He actually swims the two miles!
Catesby knows America's role in international affairs. For business, Catesby travels to far-flung regions of the world, such as China, Bangledesh, Africa, and Latin and South America, where he harnesses the rivers of the global economy to produce jobs and opportunities for the First District area. Closer to home, Catesby is involved in church and takes his religious obligations seriously. He is a former Vestry Member and current Trustee of Ware Episcopal Church. Catesby was also the former Treasurer and current board member of the Gloucester Community Foundation.
