| Info | Sherwood Hornsby Bowditch has roots in the Tidewater Virginia area going back several generations. He was born in Newport News to John and Peggy Bowditch, and raised in Gloucester on the shores of Mobjack Bay. He hunted and fished as a youngster on its bays and tributaries and at an early age demonstrated an interest in business by selling crabs, building docks and running a landscaping business with his friends.
