Elected to the California Assembly from the 46th District, as a Democrat, in 1936, 1938, and 1940.
-Member of the California State Senate, 1943-1955 (elected on the Democratic and Republican three times, switched voter registration from Democratic to Republican on September 24, 1944. Defeated in the 1954 primary due to his opposition to Eisenhower in 1952.)
-Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, 1949
-Candidate for Vice President on the Christian Nationalist Party, 1952, with Douglas MacArthur running (without his consent) for President.
-Candidate for Congress, 1952 (22nd District), 1962 (38th District)
-Author of Red Fascism: Boring from Within … by the Subversive Forces of Communism (Los Angeles: Federal Printing Co., 1947). The book explored evidence from State and Federal investigations of Communist and Marxist organizations in the U.S.
