InfoCongressman James C. Greenwood represents Pennsylvania's Eighth Congressional District which currently includes all of Bucks County and a portion of Montgomery County.

Congressman Greenwood is a lifelong resident of Bucks County and a graduate of Council Rock High School. He graduated from Dickinson College in 1973 with a BA in Social Work. From 1977 until 1980, he worked as a social worker with abused and neglected children at the Bucks County Children and Youth Social Service Agency.

Congressman Greenwood served six years in the Pennsylvania General Assembly (1980-86) and six years in the Pennsylvania Senate (1986-1993). He specialized in health, environment, and children's issues.

In November of 1992, Congressman Greenwood was elected as a Member of the 103rd Congress. He serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation. As Subcommittee Chairman, he has led investigations and held hearings on a variety of topics from corporate governance to bioterrorism to the safety of nuclear power plants.

As a member of the Education and the Workforce Committee, he has been a leading voice in the efforts to ensure that sufficient federal monies are appropriated to meet the needs of children enrolled in special education programs and to prevent violence in our schools.

Congressman Greenwood lives in Erwinna with his wife Tina and their three children: Rob, Laura and Katie
