Info Paul was raised on military bases and in Hampton at the southern end of the first congressional district. He is the son of a career U.S. Air Force sergeant and Air Force civilian employee. Paul worked his way through the College of William and Mary and William and Mary Law School.

Jost, 53, earned his reputation for hard work, a trait he inherited from his parents who both devoted their lives to government service. As a college student, he conceived the idea of buying refrigerators and leasing them to his fellow students. His idea became the National Refrigerator Leasing Corporation, a Hampton company that operated on 60 college campuses and 15 military bases throughout the United States.

Currently, Jost is president and founder of Chandler Management Corporation, a Newport News company that purchases and manages apartment complexes in three states.

Jost is actively involved with the Republican Party, and is also a community philanthropist who generously supports numerous organizations and charities. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, and he has served on numerous boards, including the William and Mary Board of Visitors where he chaired the Audit Committee.

Jost is the chairman of the Virginia Club for Growth, a fiscal watchdog group dedicated to Ronald Reagan’s vision of limited government and lower taxes. This organization is dedicated to fighting for lower taxes, reduced regulatory burdens, controlled government spending, and other policies that will expand overall economic growth and prosperity for the working people of Virginia.

Jost was Co-Chairman of the George Bush for President campaign in Virginia’s first congressional district in 2000. In November of 2000, the Bush campaign asked him to go to Florida as a member of the Bush Recount team in West Palm Beach.

Paul and his wife Laura reside in James City County.
