| Info | Raymond LeRoy Haight, Jr. died on Tuesday, 22 September 2009 after a short illness in San Francisco, CA, his home for many years.
He was born 19 April 1921 to Heloise Davis and Raymond L. Haight, Sr., in Los Angeles, CA.
Ray served as a Naval officer during World War II between earning his BA and MA in History at the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
In December 1948, he married Mary Ellen Jordan, the daughter of Ralph B. and Mary Smith Jordan, in Beverly Hills, CA.
She survives him, as do their four sons: Judge Raymond L. Haight III of Laguna Beach, CA; twins James Jordan Haight and John Jordan Haight, and David Ralph Haight, all of the San Francisco area. Ray is survived also by grandchildren William James Haight, Lele Jordan Haight, and Richard Raymond Haight.
He will be missed by his former students and all who knew him.
He was buried in the Haight family plot at the Little Shasta Cemetery, Little Shasta Valley, Yreka, CA.
