Info | Walden received a bachelor of sciences degree from the University of Oregon in 1981.
Prior to being elected to the US House of Representatives, Walden served as Press Secretary and Chief of Staff, Congressman Denny Smith from 1981-1987. He was elected to the Oregon Legislative Assembly as a member of the House of Representatives from 1989-1995 and an State Senate from 1995 to 1997. Walden was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1998 and began serving in 1999.
Outside of politics, Walden is the owner of Columbia Gorge Broadcasting Company, which runs five stations in the Hood River-The Dalles corridor. Walden also is the Director of Columbia River Bank Corp. and serves on the Board of Directors of Oregon Health and Sciences Foundation. He and his wife, Mylene, live in Hood River with their son Anthony. The Walden's are of the Episcopalian faith and participate in local civic groups such as Rotary Club, and the Chamber of Commerce.
