| Info | Bill Gahres, a former Barnegat school board member who ran for Governor in 1977 and 1981, and several other offices, died last Friday at age 92. He received 1,333 votes against Brendan Byrne in 1977, finishing last of the fourteen candidates under the "Right to Die" slogan.. In 1981, against Tom Kean under the slogan "Down with Lawyers", he finished third out of thirteen candidate with 4,525 -- two and a half times Kean's margin of victory over Jim Florio.
