Info | Dan Lowe isnt afraid of tough challenges. The son of a chemical engineer and a public school teacher, he understands that the important things in life are earned and setbacks often lead to greater opportunities.
His race against an entrenched incumbent is just such an opportunity. Dan Lowe believes voters in the first Congressional District are ready for a congressman concerned about their interests, not the special interests. Elected officials should be more concerned about the job they are elected to instead of taking a government paycheck while they run for higher office.
A successful businessman, Dan Lowe believes public service is a fitting tribute to a community and nation that allowed him to rise from modest beginnings to accomplish his lifetime goals.
Born in Tulsa and a graduate of Bartlesville College High, Dan learned early the value of hard work. His efforts in school and as an all-state football player earned him a four-year football scholarship to Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. A career-ending football injury meant that Dan had to channel his efforts elsewhere.
He graduated from Loyola University of Chicago Law School in 1979 and opened his own practice in Tulsa in 1981. He quickly expanded his business to include law offices and commercial real estate interests in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Chicago.
Dan Lowe previously ran for United States Senate and Lt. Governor of Oklahoma. He was a featured speaker at the Oklahoma Democratic Convention in 1997.
Lowe and his wife Teri live on their ranch near Tulsa. They have five children: John (15), Pearce (8), Hank (7), Phoebe (3), and Bridget (1). The Lowes are members of First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa.
