InfoDonald L. Eret, 85, of Dorchester, passed away Jan. 4, 2017. Former state senator, Nebraska Legislator 1983-87. Born May 31, 1931, rural Dorchester. A 1948 graduate Dorchester High School; 1953 BS agriculture degree, UNL. U.S. Army. Former mechanical aerospace engineer for Brown-Teledyne Corp. providing engineering services to NASA. Long-time Nebraska farmer. Supported Nebraska Tractor Testing Laboratory. Member: Dorchester United Methodist Church, American Legion, WFLA Tabor Lodge, Farmers Union. Nebraska Democratic Party Hall of Fame Award in 2011.

Survived by daughter, son-in-law, Joyce & Bobby Boyd, Madison, Ala., sons, daughters-in-law, Lee & Janice Eret, Lincoln, Larry & Betty Eret, Goehner; grandchildren & spouses Brian & Melissa TeGantvoort, Garth TeGantvoort, Jessie & Josh Franklin, Michelle & Mitch McCarthy, Lindsey Eret & Jordan Wilmes, Kelli & Brian Kohout, Nikki Avery, Jamie & Jeff Bishop, Andrea Eret & fiance Jack Classen, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Richtarik, Wilber, Gladys & Ted Schmidt, Fremont, sister-in-law, Belva Johnson, York, nieces, nephews. Preceded in death by parents, wife, Lois, grandson, Dale Boyd, three brothers-in-law.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, Dorchester United Methodist Church. Visitation: 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Friend. Family greeting: 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home; one hour prior to the service.
