InfoJonathon Dow is a 1992 graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Sociology. He has worked for the Alabama Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Department and is now currently employed at the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Many people know Jon best by his nine years with the Central Alabama Community Foundation, where he served as the first Director for the BONDS Program. The BONDS program seeks to improve neighborhood associations through leadership training and the awarding small grants. While employed with BONDS, Jon produced and published several of Montgomery's firsts such as Montgomery's First Neighborhood Directory, Montgomery's Neighborhood Conference, organized the monthly Gathering of Leaders meeting, produced a How to Develop a Neighborhood Association handbook, identified and help organize over 160 neighborhood associations and raised over $600,000 for community associations activities and programs.

Jon is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery Class XIV. He has served on the Partners in Education Board as the Co-Chair of the Program Committee, Co-Chaired the Human Relations and Diversity Committee of Envision 2020, and Jon was Vice President of ECHO, a community development corporation in the Weed and Seed Program.

Jon has also served on the Board of Directors of: Central Alabama Fair Housing Board, Chair, 2003-2004; Center for Families, 2003-2004; Success by 6, 2003; United Way, 2001-2003; Montgomery Area Council on Aging, 2000-2003; Montgomery Jubilee City Fest, 1998-2003. Southern League Board of Directors, 2005- Present.

Jon was the Founder of the Urban Village Coalition; and has served as a member of Alabama Association of Community Development Corporations; Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, 2001-2004.

Jon has been married for 23 years and has three sons Tailon, Uriah and Joshua. He has been Honorably Discharged from the 187th Fighter Wing at Dannelly Field where he held the position of Asst. Chief of Training.

In 1996, Jon formed the Regency Community Association in his neighborhood and remains actively involved. In addition, Jon has written and produced plays at the Davis Theatre, Two Wrongs Don't Make it Right and Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Jon is a member of New Life Church of God in Christ, where Terry Ellison is the Senior Pastor. Jon has served as the New Life Drama Director and Sunday School Teacher.
