From 1984 to 1987, Judge Tinder was United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana. During that time, he also served as a member of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee. Prior to becoming the United States Attorney, Judge Tinder also served as an Assistant United States Attorney.
Before joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Judge Tinder gained a wide range of experience, serving as a public defender, a state prosecutor, and a private practitioner, all in Indianapolis. He appeared numerous times in both state and federal courts and handled both civil and criminal cases.
Judge Tinder possesses excellent academic credentials and professional training.
Judge Tinder was an adjunct professor at the University of Indiana School of Law from 1980 to 1988, where he taught trial advocacy.
He graduated from the University of Indiana in 1972 and from its law school in 1975.
Judge Tinder is dedicated to serving his community in many capacities.
Judge Tinder is Vice President of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
Judge Tinder has served on the Board of Visitors of the Indiana University School of Law.
