Info | George Amedore was elected as Assemblyman for the 105th Assembly District on July 31, 2007.
Assemblyman Amedore has made the American Dream a reality for thousands of families across the Capital Region. George serves as Vice President of Amedore Homes, a locally owned and operated second-generation family business that has created hundreds of private sector jobs throughout the community by building quality homes for thousands of satisfied families.
George Amedore is a genuine American success story. Born and raised in Schenectady County, he is the eldest of five children and was one of four brothers raised in a traditional, working-class Italian family. They built their business from scratch, all the while teaching George and his brothers the values of family, hard work, decency and honesty.
It is these core values George Amedore draws upon as Assemblyman for the 105th District.
Assemblyman Amedore understands the value of providing a quality product, meeting a payroll and most importantly, giving something back to his community. In early 2007, he led Amedore Homes in donating their time and expertise to building a home for a special family chosen by the ABC television show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Amedore Homes also helped to pay off the family’s mortgage.
In the State Assembly, George Amedore will serve as a strong voice for the working families of Schenectady and Montgomery counties. George will bring his proven private sector management, administrative and job creation experience to Albany where he will fight for real property tax relief, a better economy and more jobs for area residents.
George displays a dedication to his community through extensive involvement in charitable works. Some of his recent achievements include the redesign and construction of the Ronald McDonald family room at Albany Medical Center, construction of a Schenectady Group Home to house hospice patients and the remodeling of a Texas orphanage. He supports orphans in Mexico and South Africa. George also continues to be active with numerous not-for-profit charity organizations including helping the Rotterdam Little League.
Assemblyman Amedore is also a Board Member of Schenectady Christian School, a member of the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and is a former coach for Rotterdam Little League.
George Amedore resides in the Town of Rotterdam with Joelle, his wife of 17 years, along with their three children: George, 16, Anthony, 14, and Bria, 11; all of whom currently attend Schenectady Christian School.
