InfoIn 1939 Bill Smith was born in Jenkins, Kentucky. Attending grade school in several states, as he traveled with his father, who was a musician. He was baptized a Methodist and is now a believer in the Protestant faith.

In 1953, he went to live with is mother, Clora Bingham, step-father, Bill Bingham, and sister, Mary "Alberta" Smith, in Filbert, West Virginia. There he finished grade school and graduated from Gary High School, Gary, West Virginia - Class of 1959.

From 1957 thru 1959, he was active as a Boy Scout , Den Chief and Assistant Cub Master. He joined the Army in 1962, served until 1965, and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea - there he attended the Far-East Division of the University of Maryland, obtaining credits in business and government.

In the military he was stationed in Korea and Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. He was a crewman [SP/4] in the 6th Missile Battalion [HAWK] 71st Artillery - Commanded by 1st Lt, Alfonso E. Garcia.

Returning to civilian life, he worked for LTV Steel for thirty-four years [ a member of the union, Local # 188, United Steelworkers of America], retired in 2002.

In 2003, he founded Diversified Products and will be marketing games and other items on which he holds patents and copyrights.

During the years he has a keen interest in politics - he has sought election to Congress and has had numerous letters to the editor published in the: The Plain Dealer, The Washington Times, West Life, The Cleveland Press, and other publications.
