Info | REEVES, Albert Lee, Jr., a Representative from Missouri; born in Steelville, Crawford County, Mo., on May 31, 1906; attended the public schools of Kansas City, Mo.; was graduated from William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo., in 1927; taught at Baylor University in Waco, Tex., in 1927 and 1928; student at Harvard University in 1928 and 1929; was graduated from the University of Missouri Law School at Columbia in 1931; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Kansas City, Mo.; entered on active duty in July 1942 as captain, Corps of Engineers, Missouri River Division, subsequently serving in India, Burma, and China; promoted through the ranks to lieutenant colonel and relieved from active duty April 23, 1946; resumed the practice of law; elected as a Republican to the Eightieth Congress (January 3, 1947-January 3, 1949); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1948 to the Eighty-first Congress; practiced law in Kansas City, Mo., and Washington, D.C.; senior vice president, Utah Construction & Mining Co., San Francisco, Calif.; director and secretary of Marcona Corporation and Affiliates; was a resident of Pauma Valley, Calif., until his death in La Jolla, Calif., on April 15, 1987; cremated; ashes buried at St. Francis Church, Pauma Valley.
