1991 - (August) supported the coup de'd�tat.
1991 - (November) elected member of the central committee of the Russian Communist Labour Party.
1992 (February) joined the coordinating soviet of the movement "Otchizna" (Fatherland). This movement was established by Boris Tarasov.
1992 - (17 March) participated at the extraordinary congress of deputies of the USSR (after the dissolution of the union). At the same time elected chairman of the duma of "All-popular thing" (Vsyenarodnoye veche).
1992 - (June) elected member of the duma of the Russian national synod.
1995 - elected deputy of the State Duma from the single mandate constituency no.152. Nominated candidate by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
