Born and raised in the City of Easton, Sal is married to Pam Searles who is a current member of the Easton City Council. They have four children and three grandchildren and live on the city's South Side where they were both born and raised. He earned his Master's Degree from Lehigh University and his Bachelor's Degree from Kutztown University. As a public school teacher in the Easton Area School District he was looked upon as being one of the finest.
Active in all parts of the community since his youth, Sal has served in many leadership positions including President of the Easton Area Jaycees, The State Theatre and St. Anthony's Youth Center constantly working to make Easton a better place to live, work and play.
He was recognized as a leader among local government officials and elected to the position of President of the Pennsylvania League of Cities and served as the Vice-President of the National League of Cities Environmental Steering Committee. Sal was a founding member and the first Chairman of the PennPRIME program, an insurance pool of municipalities that saved considerable taxpayer dollars.
Sal served in senior management positions including Chief Administrative Officer of the Charles Chrin Companies, Senior Vice-President of Coordinated Health Systems and currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of Strausser Enterprises, Inc. Sal currently serves as the Vice-President of the Easton Area Community Center in the city's West Ward neighborhood.
