InfoAs Assistant Manager at Malpeque Bay Credit Union, Wes Sheridan knows first-hand the issues related to Kensington - Malpeque’s rural economy.

He is proud to be part of Robert Ghiz’s new Liberal Team and is eager to begin working to strengthen the agriculture, fisheries/aquaculture, and tourism sectors – the very backbone of Kensington - Malpeque’s economy.

Wes is also deeply concerned about future opportunities for our Island youth. “Three areas must be addressed if we are to secure the future of young Islanders. We must provide our youth with opportunities to pursue high-quality, affordable post-secondary education; we must clean up public finances so Island youth aren’t burdened with our debt; and we must preserve the environment in which we live.”

Wes has an active record as a community volunteer. He has provided leadership to a number of local service organizations and sports teams. He has also been active in the Kensington United Church where he is an elder and teaches Sunday School.

Wes has also served as treasurer of the local kindergarten, co-chaired the Parent Advisory Council at Kensington Intermediate Senior High School and was instrumental in the launch of the community’s first Teen Drop-in Center.

Wes and his wife Sandra live in Malpeque. Their three children, Jon, Megan & Kelly are all pursuing post-secondary educations.
