| Info | Andy Jarbola was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He attended St. Joseph's Parish School, Robert Morris Elementary School, and Scranton Central High School. He graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
Mr. Jarbola received his Juris Doctor in 1985 from Seton Hall School of Law. While attending Seton Hall, he served as a law clerk in the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office, beginning a career dedicated to public service. He also served as a Legal Intern in the Legal Services Clinic at Seton Hall Law School.
Shorty after receiving his law degree in 1985, Mr. jarbola became law clerk to the honorable James J. Walsh, Court of Common Pleas, Lackawanna County. In 1986, he joined the the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant DA, and was soon promoted to First Assistant District Attorney.
Andy was appointed by the Court of Common Please of Lackawanna County to serve as District Attorney for the remainer of his predessor's term in 1989. He was unanimously appointed DA in 2000. Mr. Jarbola was elected District Attorney in November 2001 and has dedicated himself to the betterment of our community.
Since taking office, he has expanded the role of District Attorney in Lackawanna County. He and his staff have taken a proactive approach in educating the public on important issues of crime, abuse, and the law, to increase awareness and prevention.
Although prevention is key, DA Jarbola is a fierce prosecutor who has convicted each of the murderers he has brought to trial.
He dedicates much of his spare time to the community, as a member of several Boards of Directors, including; the Boy Scouts of America, Municipal Police Officers Education & Training Commission, Leadership Lackawanna and the Victim Witness Policy Board, among others. He also volunteers for groups such as, the Minisink Lions Club, where he served as President, North Pocono Parent Teachers Association and the North Pocono Dandy Lion Little League, where he serves as Coach.
