He graduated from Saint Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa in 1938 and from DePaul Univserity in Chicago with a LL.D. degree in 1941. He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1941. Served as United State's Commissioner for the Southern district of Illinois Northern division, 1941-1949. Commission of Division of Motor Carriers, Department of Public Works and Buildings, State of Illinois, 1949-1953. He was a member of the American,Illinois, and Rock Island Bar Association. Loyal Order of Moose, Elks, Knights of Columbus, Foresters, Rock Island Chamber of Commerece, and he's active in many civic affairs.
