A graduate of St. Rose High School in Carbondale, Mr. Brennan received an associate degree in business administration from Lackawanna Junior College. He is a graduate of the American Academy of Funeral Services in New York City. Part of his training included time spent working for the city's medical examiner's office.
Mr. Brennan regularly attends continuing education classes mandated by the county coroners association, he said.
He is a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He is a former city fire chief and has affiliations with several professional groups.
Mr. Brennan has been a Carbondale funeral director for 30 years. He is married to the former Janet L. Wagner. They have three children.
