| Info | "Mary Snyder is 79 years old, a professional nurse, retired after 40 years experience including hospital and operating room nursing, Public Health and School Nursing.
Perhaps because of those experiences, Ms. Snyder has always been a political activist. Certainly nursing brings one face to face with fundamental facts of life and the reality of injury, death, and, not least, poor heatlh. And so, as an activist, she has marched and protested during the Civil Rights movement, the Vietnam War, the U.S. role in El Salvador, Nicaragua (and in fact, all of Central and South America) and, of course, now is protesting against our belligerent and autocratic policy toward other nations and peoples, with its total disregard for the lives and health of people everywhere including those in the U.S.A.
Ms. Snyder would hope and pray that some day we may see a turn-around in our domestic policies in regard to healthcare (for all, single payer system), environment, labor rights, gun control and perhaps the key to all these – getting corporate money out of the electoral process – in orther words a clean money system as in Maine and Arizona.
Ms. Snyder looks forward to a truly civil society in which respect is shown to all citizens, each to the other, no matter what their race, creed, gender or sexual preference. We’ve got a long way to go!"
