InfoJohn Driscoll Jr. was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in November 2009 was sworn in on January 6, 2010. Freeholder John Driscoll Jr. is a lifelong resident of Bergen County. Freeholder Driscoll serves on the following committees: Planning and Economic Development where Freeholder Driscoll knowledge of the various communities in Bergen County will help him in making informed decisions about the future of Bergen County. Freeholder Driscoll serves on the Human Services Committee where he will bring his strong advocating style for those in need. Whether it is a senior citizen, a veteran, someone one with an addiction, in need of county transportation, a person needing help in a domestic violence situation, or someone with a disability Freeholder John Driscoll will be their voice.

Freeholder Driscoll is also a member of the Bergen County School of Estimates for the Special Services School District. Freeholder Driscoll has a deep commitment for people with disabilities especially children with those needs since he is a father of children with Autism. Freeholder Driscoll will also be a strong, vocal advocate when it comes to all the children in Bergen County. Freeholder Driscoll also understands the value of education. Having educators in his family he knows the commitment Bergen County teachers have for our children. Freeholder Driscoll wants to make sure that Bergen County's School System becomes a model of greatness for the rest of New Jersey to follow.

Freeholder Driscoll's volunteerism runs deep in his family. Freeholder Driscoll is a Paramus Elk, a 3rd degree Knight of the Father Waters Chapter of the Knights of Columbus in Paramus, a softball coach in the Paramus Recreation for his daughter and assists coaching in his sons' Challenger League, a former member of the Washington South Special Services PTO, a current member of his children's school's PTA. Freeholder Driscoll was also the First Legislative Advocate in Northern New Jersey for Autism Speaks. As a legislative advocate John was involved in helping get passed (A2238/S1652) which helps provide insurance reform for those families who are affected by Autism. John is also a member of the Northern New Jersey Walk Planning Committee for Autism Speaks.

Freeholder John Driscoll is a proud product of the Little Ferry School System, a graduate from Bergen catholic High School (82) and an alumnus of Bergen Community College with a degree in Business Administration. Freeholder Driscoll refers to Bergen Community College as one of Bergen County's "Jewels" that serves a vital role in education for Bergen County and the surrounding counties as the best community college in New Jersey.

As you can see Freeholder Driscoll is the consummate volunteer who often puts others before himself. He believes to be a good public servant you must think of others first and make informed and compassionate decisions. Freeholder Driscoll resides in Paramus with his wife Dr. Holly Wertans- Driscoll and their three wonderful children. John Driscoll is employed by Lorillard Tobacco Co. as a field sales representative for over 21 years.
