Aument, a graduate of Solanco High School and the prestigious Citadel--The Military College of South Carolina, served in the military for 4 years as an officer in the Army. During his deployment in Iraq, Ryan Aument was awarded the Bronze Star after he assumed command of his Infantry Company when his commander was wounded in action.
After returning to Quarryville in November of 2003 Aument became a Production Supervisor for a major manufacturer in Reading. While employed full-time Ryan Aument actively participated in local politics eventually working as Campaign Chairman and Manager for Bryan Cutler. Cutler won election to the State House of Representatives for the 100th District in November of 2006. Shortly after his election he named Aument his Chief-of-Staff.
