Colquitt and served from February 1 to March 3, 1841; resumed the practice of law; member of the State senate in 1859; Member of the House of Representatives of the First Confederate Congress 1862-1864; died while attending as a delegate the State constitutional convention at Milledgeville, Ga., on November 4, 1865; interment in Linwood Cemetery, Columbus, Ga.
