InfoSWICK, Jesse Howard, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born near New Brighton, Beaver County, Pa., August 6, 1879; attended the public schools and Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa.; taught school in Beaver County, Pa., 1895-1900; graduated from Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia in 1906; moved to Beaver Falls, Pa., in 1906 and commenced the practice of medicine; president of the Beaver Falls Bureau of Health 1907-1914; during the First World War served as a first lieutenant and later as a captain in the Medical Corps of the United States Army, with overseas service, from August 31, 1917, to May 9, 1919; resumed the practice of medicine in Beaver Falls, Pa.; also interested in banking and the manufacturing of steel products; member of the Beaver Falls City Council 1925-1927; elected as a Republican to the Seventieth and to the three succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1927-January 3, 1935); was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1934 to the Seventy-fourth Congress; resumed the practice of medicine until August 1945, when he retired; died in Beaver Falls, Pa., November 17, 1952; interment in Concord Cemetery, North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, Pa.
