Info | Timothy M. Tymkovich (born November 2, 1956 in Denver, Colorado) is a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
A native Coloradan, Tymkovich received a B.A. from Colorado College and his J.D. from University of Colorado College of Law. After law school, he clerked for Colorado Chief Justice William Erickson from 1982-1983. Tymkovich was Solicitor General for Colorado from 1991-1996. He was in private practice until his appointment to the Tenth Circuit.
President George W. Bush nominated Tymkovich to the federal bench on January 7, 2003. He was confirmed unusually swiftly by the United States Senate in a 58-41 vote less than two months later on April 1, 2003. Tymkovich replaced Judge John Carbone Porfilio, who took Senior status.
