Storrs; reelected to the Twenty-seventh Congress and served from December 7, 1840, to March 3, 1843; chairman, Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds (Twenty-seventh Congress); was not a candidate for renomination in 1842 to the Twenty-eighth Congress; member of the State house of representatives in 1845, 1849, and 1851, serving as speaker in 1845; resumed the practice of law; died in New Haven, Conn., August 27, 1871; interment in Grove Street Cemetery.
