| Info | George, 47, resides in Penn Township with his wife Sandy and their 4 daughters. They moved to Penn Township in 1996 deciding that it was an ideal location to lay down their roots and raise their family. Since then they have both been actively involved in the community. Sandy as a Girl Scout Leader and Executive Board Member of the Penn Trafford Band Parents Association, George has served as an Executive Board Member of the Penn Trafford Basketball Association, as well as a coach for years. He now serves the Township as Commissioner of the 2nd ward. In addition to his Commissioner duties, George serves on the Penn Area Library Board, the Penn Trafford Area Recreation Commission Board, and as a liaison to the Penn Township Sewage Authority.
Professionally, George originally gained management experience in the restaurant field. While running restaurants George became intrigued by the financial end of the business and at the age of 30 decided to pursue a career in accounting. He attended Robert Morris College and graduated in 1993 with the highest possible honors and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration degree. After graduation he was employed by the CPA firm of McCrory & McDowell in Pittsburgh and passed his CPA exam. While there George specialized in tax and construction accounting. In 1997, George accepted an offer to become CFO/Executive Vice President at Wright Industries, Inc. While at Wright, George handled all daily aspects of running a multimillion dollar corporation. Under his guidance Wright’s annual revenues and profits quadrupled and over 100 jobs were created. After an ownership change, George departed Wright and started Dunbar Consulting and Accounting. Being a self employed CPA has afforded George the ability to dedicate more time to his Commissioner duties in the township.
