Info | Myrna was elected MLA for Charleswood in 1998 in a by-election.
In the past eight years she has held a variety of roles within Caucus, including as the critic for Education, Citizenship, and Youth, Family Services and Housing and Persons with Disability. In May 2006, Leader Hugh McFadyen appointed her Critic for Health, the Status of Women and Deputy House Leader.
She brings to the position an extensive background in the health care profession, having worked as a registered nurse with experience in general duty, medical and nursing research, patient education and nursing administration.
Volunteering and giving back to the community has always played a significant role in Myrna’s life. She served as president of Child Find Manitoba, first vice-president of Child Find Canada and is active with many community safety organizations.
Myrna’s professional achievements have earned her recognition on the “Canadian Who’s Who” list as well as the “Who’s Who of Canadian Women”.
Myrna has called Charleswood home for more than 32 years and with her husband Hal has two sons, Rhys and Curtis.
