InfoSince his election in 1999, Larry has used his expertise to help give farmers a voice in the Legislature.

In his seven-year career in the Manitoba Legislature, Larry has held a variety of critic portfolios, including Finance, Rural Initiatives and Intergovernmental Affairs. He is currently responsible for Infrastructure and Transportation and in May 2006, was appointed Deputy Leader by Hugh McFadyen.

In addition to being a farmer for more than 30 years, Maguire has played an active role in various farm and industry organizations for more than 18 years including as the former president of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association and a founding member of the Keystone Agricultural Producers.

He is an active volunteer throughout Arthur Virden and is eager to continue to build on the successes the constituency has enjoyed since he became MLA.

Larry and his wife Beryl have two children, Tim and Laura, both of whom now reside in Calgary.
