David C. McClung, a former president of the Hawaii state Senate and chairman of Hawaii's Democratic Party, died Saturday in Honolulu.
He was 56 years old.
Mr. McClung, who also served as a member of the National Democratic Platform Committee, died in Queen's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Lansing, Mich., Mr. McClung came to Hawaii after World War II and earned his law degree at the University of Michigan in 1956. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and daughter, Sharon.
