InfoLon Borgerson’s background is as diverse as his constituency. He was raised in Saskatchewan on the family farm where he developed his interest in a rural way of life. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and over the years has attained his Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education.

Lon has been a teacher, principal, SUNTEP coordinator, director of Upisasik and SUNTEP Theatres, co-creator of the Batoche Theatre Company, and member of the Sask Arts Board.

Prior to his election in 2003 as the Saskatchewan Rivers MLA, Lon was employed by the University of Sask supervising intern teachers and teaching drama and writing at SUNTEP in Prince Albert. Lon’s work with Métis and First Nations people, his activist work with the Council of Canadians, and his theatre work with students has drawn on stories and issues of the community – an approach that strongly influences Lon’s way of working.

Lon is married to Val Drummond. They have two daughters: Kirstin and Erika.

Lon was elected in the November 5, 2003 provincial election. He is a member of the Standing Committees on Public Accounts and Human Services.
