InfoRon Harper grew up in Danbury, a farming community near Canora. He and his wife Carol moved to Regina in 1995. Mr. Harper served as municipal councillor for the rural municipality of Clayton, #333 for 10 years, and chaired the community recreation board. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Norquay Co-op.

Ron was first elected to the Sask Legislative Assembly in 1991 for the constituency of Pelly. During this time, he served on the Public Accounts Committee. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2003 to the Legislative Assembly for the constituency of Regina Northeast. Ron has served as Chair of the Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee of Agriculture and Vice-Chair of the Public Account Committee.

Ron has served as a member of the Standing Committees on Environment and Estimates; Special Committee on Regulations; and Special Committee to Prevent the Abuse and Exploitation of Children Through the Sex Trade. Ron has also served as the Deputy Chair of Committees of the Legislature.

Currently Ron is Government Co-Chair of the Saskatchewan Construction Panel, Chair of the Legislative Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Infrastructure, and a member of the Board of Internal Economy.

The Harpers have two daughters. Corrin is a Saskatoon resident while Ronda, her husband Geoff, and their daughter Emma live in Regina.
