| Info | Frank Russo was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and is the father of five children and the grandfather of two.
Auditor Russo graduated from Benedictine High School in 1968. He went to the University of Akron and graduated in 1973. He also attended the College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University taking courses in their Masters program.
Mr. Russo's public service career began as a City Councilman in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, serving from 1974 to 1980. He specialized in senior citizens issues and public service programs. He was an administrator in the County Recorder's Office from 1980 until 1983 overseeing property records management and the daily index of property records. Mr. Russo went on to serve as Chief Deputy in the County Auditor's Office for the next two years. Mr. Russo initiated the neighborhood outreach program for homeowners, bringing property information to neighborhood centers during the reappraisal process. In 1985 he was elected to the office of County Recorder. He set new standards for filing records, and spearheaded a new State law that allowed for computerization of property records. He initiated Cuyahoga County's computer imaging systems for real property files.
As County Auditor, he has directed the Cuyahoga County Information Services Center to accelerate the computerization of all county government agencies. Mr. Russo has been a major advocate of getting all governmental agencies on the Internet. Auditor Russo's goal is to get all public records on line and to make that data readily available to the public via the Internet. Mr. Russo is currently involved with his outreach program where he and his staff meet property owners in their respective neighborhoods to discuss their updated reappraised property values.
Auditor Russo is a member of the Ohio Auditor's Association, the County Auditor's Association, the Iacreot Association, the International Association of Assessing Officers, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, and the Cleveland Board of Realtors.
