1980: Acquired New Mexico Word Processing Center, a
sub-contractor to Sandia Labs which provided
word processing, transcription and technical
services. Operated business while attending
UNM Law School until graduation in 1984. Sold
to management.
1984: Active practice of law from 1984 to the present
concentrating on commercial law with a specialty
in Business Bankruptcy. Licensed in New Mexico,

Military:
1970: Primary pilot training at Reese Air Force Base,
Texas with subsequent advanced training at
Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico and Nellis
Air Force Base, Nevada in the F-111 fighter. Sea
Survival and Jungle Survival Schools in 1972.
1972 through 1978: Stationed at various Air Force Bases
in the United States and Thailand. Flew 77
combat missions in Cambodia, Laos and Viet
Nam and was awarded the Distinguished Flying
Cross (DFC) and three Air Medals.
Government Service:
Served as New Mexico State Senator, District 18 from
1989 through 1992. Awarded "Rookie of the
Year" in Senate.
Served as New Mexico State Senator, District 21 from
1997 through 2000. Committees: Conservation;
Indian Affairs; Interim Committee on Courts,
Corrections and Criminal Justice; Interim
Committee on Indian Gaming Compact; and
Judiciary. Sponsored and Passed the "Partial
Birth Abortion Ban Act", February 2000.
