InfoJohn has had a distinguished career in both the private and public sector and was raised on an award winning New England dairy farm.

As a graduate of Dartmouth College in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chinese Language and Culture, John brings a unique ability to confront one of the greatest challenges facing the US economy – our relationship with China.

After graduation, John was elected to the Massachusetts Legislature where he served four terms. John then founded a firm that helped telecommunications companies form business relationships with, and establish joint ventures in, China. His work led to four joint ventures in excess of $30M. In addition, as a partner with Greenwich-Chartwell Group, he worked to develop energy projects in China and Southeast Asia. He has also negotiated power purchase agreements in China.

John has always stayed active in the community. As a member of Windsor's Budget Committee, he helped lead the effort to send a responsible and balanced budget to the Selectmen. The recommended budget – whose major components were ultimately approved – was a rare achievement for Windsor since it did not require tax increases.

Moreover, John spent 3 years working on Windsor’s Development Review Board.

John currently serves as President of the Hanover Institute.

John met his wife, Fiona Blunden, on a visit to London, while he was working on a China related project. They have been married 16 years and live in the lovely Vermont countryside. They have a small garden and in their spare time keep bees.

Fiona is a gilder. She has a studio in Bridgewater, Vermont where she applies gold leaf to picture frames and furniture, both old and new.
