InfoConstance Fox Ham D. Goldman

State Rep. (2004-2006)

Representative Connie Goldman has a long background in public education. She was a classroom teacher for 15 years, served as a building administrator for 4 years and was superintendent of schools for 13 years—7 years in Gorham and 6 in Cape Elizabeth. In addition, she served on numerous policy committees at the state level and was Maine’s steering committee representative for the Education Commission of the States.

She is serving her first term in the Legislature and is a member of the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee. Her previous experience as a member of policy committees centered on implementation of the Learning Results offers an opportunity for perspective for any legislative review in this area. These committees included initial concept designs for both Essential Programs and Services and local assessment systems, both issues currently prominent in ongoing discussions.

Connie lives in Cape Elizabeth near Crescent Beach with her husband, Bob. They have four grown sons and eight grandchildren. They are avid consumers of the news and enjoy such programs as the News Hour on public television as well as those on National Public Radio. Connie also enjoys reading, gardening, knitting and traveling.
