InfoAs a Lincoln native, I feel Lincoln is the best city to reside and raise children. I love the people, how we interact with others and how we have maintained the small-town qualities that we have all grown to love.

As I enter my 6th decade, I think about as the saying goes “what I would like to give back to the community”. I reflect of the glories of the past…when Lincoln was a solid town with good paying jobs by top companies…when people went to school and stayed in Lincoln to open their own businesses. Leading citizens listened to the residents of this fair city and stood up for them in city hall. I want Lincoln to remain what it's best known for and not become another Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, or even Omaha.

Like many Lincolnites, want progress and growth – when the business of helping the city prosper is conducted in a well thought out manner. The elected officials currently in office don’t seem to have the best interest of the city in mind. I firmly believe that most people like Lincoln the way it is. I have heard from many who have moved to Lincoln that they moved because of the small town feel, the safety and the schools.

Lincoln still has the small-town quality; the various neighborhoods scattered with small businesses serving the immediate needs of clientele. The people currently in office want to turn Lincoln into a big city. That doesn't mean the people don’t want progress and growth, it’s about how those in office now go about it. Progress and growth should not be at the cost of the taxpayers.

At this time, we are a city that is highly over-taxed. A city that is losing existing businesses and a city that does not work well with new businesses. It is evident that the city government has slipped up on courting the businesses that started here to stay here…e.g.…Gallup. It seems that we have a City Council that has forgotten who elected them and that their responsibility is to listen to the everyday homeowner, small business owner, large business owner and resident on the street. These are the people that elected them to work on their behalf.

I feel the residents of Lincoln want honesty, to hear the truth, to be spoken to - not at. They want people that will take their opinions to heart and not make decisions behind closed doors. One person does not make a city. It takes a whole community to do that.

However, I want to be the one who listens to those on the street, to those in the coffee shops, to those in business. I want to be the one that takes their issues to heart and help them. I want to be the one who will listen to them and stand up for them in city hall! Their voice will be heard through me!
I want to bring new ideas to Lincoln that fit our goals with the hope of making it a better place to live and yet retain our values. I want to bring a renewed life to Lincoln; I want to be the one that will stand up for you in City Hall. I want to be the person that will fight for you. I want you, the citizens of Lincoln to have a say in it’s governing and shape its own destiny.

Experience:

I have been a local business man for over 40 years that I feel qualifies me to lead the city of Lincoln, recruiting new businesses, running the city hall like a business and serving the citizens of Lincoln. The people of this great city are rallying for change and I am accustom to that environment. My participation in Non-Profit groups and running for City Council in 2005, finishing 7 out of 20, (one from the cut) on $1,300 provides me the insight to what Lincoln needs...Common Sense. The city of Lincoln needs to be run like a business...who better to do it than a business person.

I have helped out with a number of non-profit groups at functions. I have never held public office before. I ran for governor in 1986 and lost in primary, and city council in 2005, coming in 7th out of 20, and missed being in general election by one place.
