InfoClaude VanderVeen, a resident of Cudahy for close to 10 years is announcing his candidacy for the Wisconsin State Senate as a wake up call to demand an overhaul of Wisconsin State Government. The state of Wisconsin was always known for its clean and progressive politics and we are now losing our great reputation that our predecessors worked so hard to achieve. Too many state legislators, along with our governor, are being investigated for immoral and illegal campaign activities. It is like the movie Ground Hog Day; we keep waking up to the same sad state of affairs in our state government.

As a Green, Claude stands for making government transparency a priority. Taking corporate money out of elections and creating a public financing mechanism for candidates is a great start. No more pay to play!

Our healthcare is in a crisis situation with so many falling through the cracks. We need a strong safety net in order to alleviate decisions between going to the doctor or paying ones rent. Claude will advocate for a single payer system for the state of Wisconsin.

As our state legislators make unnecessary laws about marriage and guns, thousands of Wisconsinites go without. Job security, affordable education and clean elections are just a few of the core issues of Claude VanderVeen's State Senate campaign.
