Info | Antonio Guzmán Blanco (1829–1899) was President of Venezuela and an influential figure in that country from 1870 to 1888.
The autocratic nature of his regimes contrast sharply with the many economic and legal reforms and achievements that they brought about.
Also a distinguished freemason, he reduced the power of the Catholic Church in Venezuela while in office.
His father was the Liberal Party founder.
