InfoState Senator Tracy Potter is the Democratic NPL nominee for the United States Senate in 2010. Senator Potter represents a Bismarck district and is the only Democrat to win a legislative election in Bismarck this century.

A citizen legislator, Potter is a historian and heritage tourism professional. For the last 16 years, he has been the executive director of the non-profit Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation. In 2003, Potter's Sheheke: Mandan Indian Diplomat, the only biography of an American Indian leader who met Lewis and Clark, was published by Fort Mandan Press.

Tracy has been married to Laura Anhalt for 31 years. Their family includes son, Vaughn, 24, attending Columbia College in Chicago, and Tracy's daughter Jenny, 38, a CPA in California.

Tracy Potter holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in History from the University of North Dakota. He was given the state Chamber of Commerce's Tourism and Recreational Development Award in 1997 and Governor's Award for Tourism in 2004.
