InfoBorn January 23, 1975, Joseph James Taborsak soon proved to be a bright, energetic child. He took after his dad, Bob, when it came to sports and his love of learning. He seems to have inherited his interest in politics and his concern for others from his mother Lynn, a former state representative and now a member of Danbury's Common Council.

Joe graduated from Danbury High School in 1993 and went on to Northeastern University in Boston where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice. While in Boston, Joe was employeed by the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance ("MOVA") under the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. At MOVA, Joe worked to improve state services for victims of crime. It was during this period that Joe realized that his true passion was helping others.

After graduating from Northeastern, Joe went on to Pace University School of Law, where he earned a law degree and a certificate in Health Law and Policy. During his time at Pace, Joe interned with the John Jay Legal Clinic where he provided pro bono legal services to disabled persons struggling with the complexities of disability and social security law. Fighting for people was becoming a trend in Joe’s life.

In June of 2003, Joe passed the Connecticut Bar Exam with flying colors and joined Cramer & Anderson LLP, a well established Connecticut law firm with offices in Danbury, New Milford, Kent, Litchfield and Washington. At Cramer & Anderson, Joe continues to fight for people in Connecticut courtrooms where he is known for his quiet confidence, knowledge of the law, and ability to solve problems.

When not appearing in court, or working in his office, Joe enjoys a wide range of interests. He stays in shape by running, playing softball and soccer. When not on the sports field you might find him fixing up his parents’ vintage home on Hayestown Road or at Bear Mountain Park walking his Bassett Hound “Chili”. You could run into Joe fishing the local lakes and rivers (if he could find the time) or picking up a history book or CD at Borders.

Like many of us, Joe became more and more frustrated with the direction our country has taken over the last several years. It was never Joe's style to stand on the sidelines so earlier this year he decided to get into the game and run for the state legislature from his home district, the 109th. If Joe's past is any gauge, he will make a great representative for the people of Danbury in Hartford.
