InfoEugene DePasquale is a native Pittsburgher. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1989 and attended the College of Wooster in Ohio, where he received his B.A. in 1993. Mr. DePasquale was a member of the football and baseball teams at Wooster. Mr. DePasquale was awarded the Most Outstanding Senior by the College and was voted Most Inspirational Senior by his football teammates.

Mr. DePasquale returned to Pittsburgh and worked for CareBreak, a non-profit association that provided programs for physically challenged youths.

In 1995, Mr. DePasquale entered the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. During his tenure, he served an internship in Harrisburg with the House of Representatives. Mr. DePasquale received a Masters of Public Administration in 1997.

Mr. DePasquale returned to Harrisburg to work for state government through the Pennsylvania Management Associates Program, and then went to work for the State Legislature in both the Democratic Caucus of the House or Representatives, and as Legislative Director for Senator Allyson Schwartz.

In January 2002, York Mayor John Brenner appointed Mr. DePasquale Deputy Mayor for Economic Development. Mr. DePasquale oversaw the Department charged with improving the business climate, implementing the Keystone Opportunity Zone Program and serving as liaison to the business community for permitting issues. During his tenure, York saw a net increase of 39 taxable businesses, completion of the Susquehanna Commerce Center (a Brownfield Redevelopment project), and the decision by Dentsply International to maintain their international headquarters in the City of York.

While working in Harrisburg and York, Mr. DePasquale attended the Widener University Law School at night in Harrisburg. Mr. DePasquale received his law degree in May 2002, and is now licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

In September 2003, Governor Edward G. Rendell and DEP Secretary Kathleen A. McGinty appointed Mr. DePasquale to be Deputy Secretary for Community Revitalization and Local Government Support. In this position Mr. DePasquale leads the Department’s economic development and local government outreach efforts.

Mr. DePasquale is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and York County Bar Associations.

Mr. DePasquale is married to the former Tracey Secrest. The couple has two children, Benjamin and Sarah. They reside in York County.
