Info | I am a life long Detroit resident and have worked at the Detroit Medical Center for over 10 years. I am also a family man with a wife and two children; one in high school and one in college.
I have been a Libertarian activist for over 12 years and a candidate for office several times in the past. I have been a tireless worker in the Wayne County affiliate for as long as I have been involved in the Libertarian Party. I am passionately committed to preserving liberty and working for true social justice.
It is because of my commitment to justice that I became involved with the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI). The only way true justice will be achieved is if we begin judging each other by our actions and character, not the color of our skin. The MCRI is a ballot proposal that, if approved, would eliminate the use of race or gender in state hiring, state contracts, and university admissions. Personally, I'm offended by the notion that I need extra help succeeding in life because I'm not white.
One of the main reasons I decided to run for Governor is because of my work on the MCRI. Both gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos and Governor Jennifer Granholm have publicly opposed this proposal despite polls showing a majority of voters in favor of it. This disconnect between politicians and the public prompted me to seek the Libertarian Party of Michigan nomination. It's time you and I stand up and send a strong message to Lansing and the other parties that we want to be heard. I would be grateful your vote this November.
