Info | Porfirio "Pepe" Lobo Sosa is a Honduran politician. He was born in Trujillo in 1947 but grew up on a ranch near Juticalpa, Olancho department. After attending a Catholic school in Juticalpa, he first furthered his studies in Tegucigalpa and then in a university in the United States. He became a Deputy in the Honduran National Congress in 1990. He was in charge of the Honduran Corporation for Forestry Development from 1990 to 1994. He is currently President of Congress. Lobo is the National Party of Honduras' candidate for the November 27, 2005 presidential election. His campaign was based on a tough stance on crime, and for being in favour of reintroducing the death penalty.
Pepe was the PNH presidencial candidate in the election of November 27, 2005, which he lost but came in a strong second. His brother Juan Ramón Lobo Sosa is a deputy in the Honduran National Congress for the Department of Colón.
