InfoYear after year I attend our caucuses and conventions and hear the same old, worn-out rhetoric. All too often candidates come to us at a convention and say, "I’m pro-life," "I’m for Second Amendment rights," "I’m for shrinking the size of government," "I’m for lower taxes," etc. When they are elected, nothing —or worse —happens.

I will not tell fellow Republicans "I’m pro-life," and "I’m for Second Amendment rights" simply to attract support.

I was the first Republican candidate to file for the 2010 race for governor. I did this on April 15, 2009. Due to my work schedule I was unable to attend any tax protest Tea Parties. My filing was my tax protest!

The governor and others in leadership positions are taking our party— the party of Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Ronald Reagan— to the brink of extinction.

Remember, we are the political grandchildren and great-grandchildren of some of the greatest Republicans that ever lived. When we have stood on our principles and made the country in our image, we win and the country wins.

I don’t play defense, I play offense!

I will push the envelope for myself and other pro-life Minnesotans. I will push the envelope on Second Amendment rights in Minnesota. I will push the envelope on reducing the size of state government and on cutting taxes. I will push the envelope on early childhood, K-12, and higher education in Minnesota.

WHERE I'VE BEEN AND WHAT I'VE DONE:

Stood less than 100 feet from the base of the Lincoln Memorial when Martin Luther King, Jr., gave his "I Have A Dream" speech.

Moved to Minnesota in 1973.

Supervisor for the Fingerhut Corp at their St. Cloud distribution center.

Ran contraction business renovating older homes for resale in addition to building new homes for sale.

Currently renovate properties for an investor that buys/sells real estate.
