Info | Scott Meacham became the 17th State Treasurer of Oklahoma on June 1, 2005 , appointed by Governor Brad Henry to fill the unexpired term of Robert Butkin.
Prior to becoming treasurer, Scott served as Governor Henry’s Director of the Office of State Finance. He continues to serve on the governor’s cabinet as Secretary of Finance and Revenue and, as such, serves as the governor’s negotiator on budget, policy and other matters.
Scott brings years of experience in the Oklahoma banking industry to the treasurer’s office. A Certified Financial Planner, Scott served as Chief Executive Officer for First National Bank & Trust of Elk City . Under his direction, the bank more than double in size and saw its profits increase by more than 150 percent.
Prior to joining the bank in 1989, Scott practiced law in Clinton . As a partner in the firm of Meacham and Meacham, his practice focused primarily on commercial law, estate planning and probate.
Scott is a graduate of Chickasha High School . He has earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, a Masters of Business Administration and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma .
Scott has been active in many local civic organizations and in his local church. He, his wife Susan and their four children currently make their home in Edmond.
