| Info | Tim Ylinen actually started his radio career right here in Central Illinois in 1991. He began working at AM1020 WPEO as an on air board operator while attending college at Illinois Central College. After working at WPEO for about a year, he then had the opportunity to join the ranks of 105.7 WWCT (Rock 106) as the on air overnight guy. He spent 3 years at Rock 106.
Then in 1995, he moved to the afternoon slot at 95.5 WGLO. He also, for a while, held the midday slot at WGLO and preformed numerous programming, production, and engineering duties at the station. He spent about 8 years at WGLO.
In the winter of 2004, he moved from WGLO to become the Program Director and midday host of Central Illinois’ new contemporary Christian radio station, WPIA, HOPE 98.5.
He and his wonderful wife Robin were married in 1998 and they have two wonderful children, Samantha and Jadon. He enjoys boating, traveling, and he is an Amateur Radio operator.
Tim thoroughly enjoys being a part of “Today’s Christian Music” HOPE 98.5 and being able to bring a positive and encouraging message to the people and families of central Illinois.
