Info | Teacher & Ex-Pro-Football Player
Ron was born in Lancaster on March 5, 1955, and grew up working on his familys Somerset County farm. Talent and drive won him a football scholarship to Penn State, where he made headlines as a linebacker for Joe Paternos Nittany Lions. He earned a bachelors degree in 1977.
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Ron, but after a knee injury ended his pro football career, he decided to become a teacher. He returned to Penn State to earn a masters degree in education.
Since 1983, Ron has dedicated himself to teaching and coaching disadvantaged children at the Milton Hershey School. His success in connecting with students won Ron recognition in Whos Who Among American High School Teachers.
